As we manage more and more of our daily tasks on our computers—relying on our PCs as communication centers as well as multimedia hubs—both traditional computers and portable devices have their drawbacks when it comes to living a fully digital lifestyle at home. Traditional computers can be bulky and unattractive, so they're hidden away. Portable devices can be hard to use and easier to lose. When will technology integrate with the way we live? When will we reach that stylish Star Trek moment?

The HP TouchSmart PC presents just such a compromise between form and function. Its elegant design and intuitive interface fit comfortably into the important spaces where family and friends gather: your kitchen, family room or other common areas in the home. This means you (and everyone else) can stay connected without leaving the room.

Powered by touch screen technology similar to that used in ATMs and dozens of other conveniences, the HP TouchSmart offers serious functionality in a very friendly package. Simply plug in the power cord and everything you need is right there—all you have to do is touch.

This Quick Lesson will cover some of the ways the TouchSmart can change the way you embrace technology in the home. After a brief introduction to the TouchSmart family of applications, you'll learn more about how the TouchSmart can help you (and your entire family) stay organized, connected and entertained.

After learning about TouchSmart's many benefits, the lesson switches its focus to the many innovations that help power the TouchSmart's unique software and hardware architecture. If you're not the techie type, don't worry. You don't have to be a geek (or even a geek in training) to appreciate everything that goes into making the TouchSmart so special.

By the time you're through with this Quick Lesson, you'll know more about how the TouchSmart's unique design and innovative features can change the way you view the personal computer. And you'll begin to understand how the TouchSmart can change the way you work and live.

Touchsmart

It is 6:00AM, and I am awake waiting for delivery of my Touchsmart. I feel like a child on Christmas Eve. It will be Christmas in July.

Manual

I need a more detailed manual on how to use
the functions on the HP Touchsmart. The
manual that came with the computer is not
sufficient. I use AOL and need to know how this
interacts with the computer. I can't put contacts in alphabetical order. Is there a more
detailed manual that I can download?

touchsmart

I have seen HP's 22" touchsmart desktop model and the laptop. Can't wait to purchase one. Am waiting for HP to introduce the touchsmart in a larger screen for a laptop.
