Welcome

Welcome to the Networking 101 course. I look forward to hearing about your progress and guiding you through this exciting course.
What to Expect
Each Lesson is followed by a quiz and an assignment.
I will check the message board daily and try to answer all posts individually if possible. When you have questions, please start a new thread with the subject "To the instructor". This way you can be sure that your issue will be properly addressed. If many of you have the same question or issue, I will address it as a group post.
I encourage all of you to share your experiences so that you get as much knowledge as possible out of this course.
Ocassionally I will post links to additional reading material or articles of interest since technology is constantly changing. These are not mandatory, but may be useful in your learning process.
All lessons have been posted. If you have any questions or concerns, I will be checking the board daily.

I had signed up for the last networking 101 Class but just started working and didn't have time to do any of the classes. I just signed up for this one and hopefully I will be able to finish this one

Saffy_Mast,
The way class works is:
1. Students read the lessons, do the assignments, and take the quizzes when each lesson is posted.
2. By saying a lesson is posted, it means that, on the web page that lists all of the lessons, assignments, and quizzes, the links to the lesson and its corresponding assignment & quiz are available.
3.You can click on the words "lesson", "assignment", and "quiz" to access them. You can access each lesson as many times as you want once it becomes posted until the class ends. The same is true for the corresponding lesson & quiz. You can take a quiz as many times asyou would like.
4. Complete each assignment (marked as "Completed" after you click on the button that says you have completed the assignment), and get a grade (percentage of the number of questions answered correctly) for each quiz.
5. If you have read all the pages of a given lesson, completed a given assignment, and taken a given quiz, the appropriate information ("Completed" for lessons and assignments" and "Grade" for quizzes) should show up on the web page that lists all of the lessons.

Hi Diane and class.
I am looking forward to learn more about networking. I have a bi-level house with a desktop upstairs and a laptop downstairs, so I am excited to learn about networking the two of them together. I think this class will also help me with my upcoming classes in IT Support Specialist degree program. I am already an HP fan, always had HP Printers, at work I use HP Test Director, QTP, and Winrunner.

Many thanks to HP and Diane for this class.

Hi Diane and classmates,

I am new to this class and I am happy to be part of it. I just want to know if it is possible to take a lesson again. I did not do well with the first quiz so I would like to read the first lesson again and retake the quiz. Is that possible?

Thanks

Saffy_Mast,
The quizzes are self-graded and the assignments are for you to do as reinforcement of the lessons.
There is no time limit on the class time. It is self-paced.

Mgtserv,
You can retake the quizzes as many times as you want.
