Lesson #3 - Discussion

Posted: Jun. 19

Hi everyone!

Hope you are doing well with the lessons so far. Now that you have read Lesson #3, what do you think? Do you think you will use formulas and functions much? They can get complicated, but can also be very time saving. How did you do on assignment #3? If you need any help or have any questions, please post a message.

Hi Gaye
Lesson 3 was very useful to me. Use of formulas and functions will definittely speed up work, especially the formula copying feature. I can now navigate through a worksheet very fast with practice, and with confidence. Thanks for the lesson.

That's great, Emmanuel! It's always great to take a course like this, but especially when you can put the information to practical use to make your work (or whatever) easier.

Glad to hear your feedback! Gaye

Hi Gaye,
I found this lesson interesting. Using formulas and function is an added knowledge. I did had problem with std deviation in the assignment but referred to your reply on the question and got it. With constant practice and familiarity, this would make part of my work time efficient. Thanks indeed!

Hi there!

That question is a doozy! So glad that you will be able to use the things you learned in this lesson at work. Any time you can become more efficient at work it's good. Less stress for you! And it really does just take practice and use.

Thanks for posting! Gaye

Hi Gaye
I have just completed Lesson3 but only achieved a 60% in the Quiz.

I find the Exponetation a bit difficult to get to grips with but I am sure, with a little practice I will master it.

\the lessons are very helpful.
many thanks

Hi Madpete!

Exponentiation is definitely tough. I wouldn't worry about your quiz scores. The quizzes are there to help you by identifying areas you might want to look back at. You might want to go back thru the lesson on the things you didn't do well on and then re-take the quiz. It really helps to check your understanding or kind of point out something you might have missed. You can retake the quiz as often as you like :)

Glad you are enjoying the lessons and finding them helpful. That's what it's all about!

Thanks for posting! Gaye

Hi Gaye, The results I'm getting in copying formulas using the fill handle are very inconsistent; however, the cut and paste works well for me even though it does take longer. Eve
