Lesson #1 - Discussion

Hi everyone!

Now that you have read Lesson #1, what do you think? What do you think about all the document themes? Truly time saving and the possibilities are endless! Did you spend some time playing around with WordArt? Have you thought about different ways you can put these tools to use? How did the assignment go?

I have just finished the first lesson and I think that it is great! I have put some of what I have learned to good use on my job already. I have started up a newletter at work and the WordArt really is an eye catcher!

I have finished lesson #1 and I was really surprise much more easier this edition is than 2000/2003. I get it now, I really do get it. Its a good feeling. Good Luck to Everyone.

Lesson 1, page 2 says To see the available effects, select Effects > Module.
See how the SmartArt changed? Dual lines are now shown instead of single lines.

When I touch the different themes, it shows how the text changes, but when I touch the different effects nothing changes.

Sorry about that! I somehow lost track of your post.

If you inserted the vertical box list smart art and used the foundry theme, you should see the 3 solid green text boxes with a thin green outlined box on each. Do you see this? It is this vertical box list that will change when you select Module, not the text in your document.

When you go to Themes>Effects> and simply hover over Module, your green text boxes and the outlined boxes should change to add a thin line around each (making double lines). Make sure you are just looking at the smart art and not the text. You should see a change to your smart art when you hover over the different effects.
