Just finished Lesson 1

Posted: Oct. 21

I just crammed Lesson 1 and I took all that information in and really did the assignment at the end and then only made 50% on the quiz. I guess that means I need to go back over the readiing material. I think after reading all that info at once I tended to get it confused at the end. Not off to a great start!

It's okay. You can go through the information again and then retake the quiz. Take your time with all of this. You have all the time you need.

I may have already responded to this...there are many things that can cause your system to lock up. What where you doing at the time it locked up?

hi, I find this coarse extremely informative. There is so much to learn... I was trying out some of the spam guard, and the Windows Firewall Settings and when I clicked it on I got a message from Norton saying that this firewall needed to be turned off...why?? By the I also clicked at the Outlook Express to familiarize myself with this and after I did all this different browsing I found that all of my e-mail message on Yahoo mail was gone...pffft! any ideas why this happened.

Lesson 1 was so informative! I cannot wait to go on. I also want to go back through the sites I bookmarked to check them out more throughly.

Lumaria,

The Windows Firewall was most likely conflicting with the Norton Firewall, which is why Norton suggested that your turn it off. Double check that the version of Norton that you're using DOES include a firewall, and then turn the Windows Firewall off and you shouldn't have any problems.

As for the Outlook and Yahoo issue, if you set up your outlook to get your Yahoo mail, then Yahoo probably has a setting to delete (or archive) messages once Outlook has picked them up. You can change that in your Yahoo! settings.

I hope that helps.

I received a lot of information from lesson 1. I have a new computer and have not yet gotten any virus protection for it, is it true that I can get free virus download for it or should I just try to but virus software.
