	Student profile

What is my profile page?

The Your profile page contains tabs that allow you to link to the following information:

• Profile: Edit your public and private profile information as well as your email preferences and password.
• Ratings: See the ratings you have provided for classes and instructors.
• Posts: See posts you have made in one easy glance.

You must have a valid profile in order to access classes. Click View/edit profile in the left-hand navigation to review your profile information.

The public profile area allows you to control the personal information that your instructor and other students can see: your nickname, your city and state, your country of residence, your gender and a bio, if you wish. All of this information is voluntary, and you control which information is viewable to others by checking the box next to Display ____ in public profile. You can also change your private information, email preferences and password from the Profile tab.

What are public profiles?

Your public profile consists of information that you choose to display about yourself on the Learning center. If you wish to share information about yourself with your instructor and fellow students, you can choose a nickname and display any or all of the following: city, state, country, gender, company name and bio, as well as complete classes and class ratings.

To view or change your public profile, click View/edit profile in the left-hand navigation, and then click the Profile tab.

To view another student's public profile from a message board or discussion board, simply click their nickname.

My student profile information is incorrect. How do I change it?

To update your profile information, click View/edit profile in the left-hand navigation, click the Profile tab and then click Edit my profile. From this page you can edit the following information:

• Public and private profile information
• Email preferences
• Password

Follow the instructions in these sections to update your profile information and then click Save when you are finished.

What are email settings?

Your email settings control whether you receive email messages from the Learning center. To change your email settings:

1. Click View/edit profile in the left-hand navigation.
2. On the Profile tab, click Edit my profile.
3. Under the Change your email preferences section, check or uncheck your options as appropriate. You set these options when you registered for the Learning center.
4. Click Save.

How do I change my password?

You can change your password at any time. To create a new password for your profile:

1. Click View/edit profile in the left-hand navigation.
2. On the Profile tab, click Edit my profile.
3. In the Change password section, enter your current password into the Current password field.
4. Enter your new password in the New password and Confirm new password fields.
5. Click Save.

What if I've forgotten my password?

If you have forgotten your password, follow these steps:

1. Go to the At home or At work tabs and click the Forgot your password link in the Returning students section.
2. On the forgot password page, enter the email address assigned to your student profile and then click Submit.
3. Read the text and then click Confirm.
4. Check your email inbox for a message from the Learning center with your new password.
5. Use this password and your email address to log into the Learning center. This password is randomly generated, so you may want to follow the instructions above to change this new password to one you can more easily remember.
