Who are the instructors?HP Learning center instructors are subject-matter experts who really enjoy teaching and interacting with students. Among them are award-winning authors, technology leaders, and professionals. How do I ask the instructor a question?Your instructor will be happy to answer your questions regarding topics covered in your lessons. Please post your question to your class Message board so that your instructor can respond. You must be enrolled in a class in order to use the class Message board. To access the Message board:
Your message will post to the class Message board for your instructor and fellow students to review. Instructors and other students review the Message board often, so you should receive a response shortly after posting your question. What are the different parts of a class? Each HP Learning center class uses a combination of the following components to help you learn about a topic:
You will be able to access all of these components of a class once you enroll in it. How do I learn more about a specific class? The class overview page includes the key information about a specific class, including the class description, the instructor's objectives for the class, and the start and end dates for all available class sessions. Once you enroll in a class, the overview page lists next steps and highlights Message board activity to help guide you through the class. What is in the lessons? All class lessons consist of multiple pages that cover different aspects of the class topic. Click Next and Previous at the bottom of each lesson page to navigate through the lesson. Text on the right side of the page includes notes, tips, or merchandise related to the class that your instructor finds useful or interesting. Some lessons include assignments and quizzes, which are designed to enhance your learning experience. Use the assignments to apply what you've learned and as a springboard for thoughts and questions you can post to the class Message board. Quizzes help you check your understanding of the material that you just covered in the lesson. We interactively score your quiz so you can discover in real time which concepts you understood and which concepts you might want to review or ask questions about on the Message board. How do I access my lessons? You may only access lessons for classes in which you are enrolled. To access lessons:
I can't seem to access my lessons. What's wrong?First, check to make sure the lesson you are attempting to access has posted to the site. The first lesson for each class is available on the class start date. If lessons have not yet posted, then the links to the lessons will not be active and you will not be able to review the lessons. You can print out your lessons and assignments at any time during the active session, but once the session ends, you will no longer have access to review or print the class information. The class overview page for all classes lists a start and end date for the session in which you are enrolled. We are unable to release lesson materials once a class session has ended, so please be sure to complete your lessons before the class end date. If you are unable to complete the class before its end date, be sure to return regularly to the HP Learning center to look for new sessions of the class. How do I print the class lessons? To print your class lessons, navigate to the lesson and page (or pages -- click "view all pages" if you want to print them all at once) you want to print. Click the "Printable version" link in the lower-left navigation column of your browser window. (You may need to scroll to the bottom of the page.) Use your browser/printer options to print as needed. Note that colored page breaks and highlighted backgrounds may not print. How do I obtain a PDF of the course I am taking? You can download a PDF of any course that you are enrolled in. Simply click on the '» Download Now' icon on the session overview page and answer the survey questions. How do I obtain a certificate of completion? In order to obtain a certificate of completion, you must view all lesson pages and complete all quizzes and assignments. Once you are finished with the last lesson of the class, click on the link to the certificate of completion to download a copy. After the class end date you can still download certificates for completed classes by going to the My classes section on the left navigation bar of the home page.
